Well-groomed nails that stay beautiful for a long time, that's what everyone wants, right? Unfortunately, your favorite nail salon or beauty bar might be closed due to the coronavirus crisis. But don't panic, you can create well-groomed nails at home in no time. This way, you'll get through your days, and your nails will look fantastic again. Win-win! At the end, we'll share our all-time favorites with you, so keep reading.
The preparation
Whether you choose artificial nails, gel polish, or regular nail polish, good preparation is very important. This way, your nails will last the longest and look the best. You can use the Prep & Remover Kit from Impulss for this. File your nails to the right length, gently push back your cuticles with a cuticle pusher, and then buff your entire nail with a file. Clean your nails thoroughly so that the artificial nails or nail polish can adhere well. Now you're ready for the next step.
Applying acrylic nails at home
Many of us go to the nail salon for acrylic or gel nails. Now that these are unfortunately closed for a longer time, you might be in need of a new set of nails. With the French Acrylic Kit from KISS, you have everything you need to apply a new set of acrylic nails yourself. After preparing and cleaning your nails, you can start using the products from the kit. Begin by selecting the right size of the artificial nail tips that fit your fingers. Apply these with nail glue. Make sure to use enough glue so that the nail tip adheres well. Then you can start applying the acrylic. Pour a small amount of acrylic liquid into a glass bowl and dip the included brush into it. Dip the brush tip into the acrylic clear powder and swipe the brush tip in the powder until a small ball forms. You can now place this ball on your nail and gently shape it between your natural nail and the artificial nail tip. Repeat these steps until you're satisfied with the result and let the acrylic dry for at least 5 minutes. Then file your nails smooth and into shape. This is how quickly and easily you can replace or apply your acrylic nails at home.
Applying gel nails yourself
Are you not a fan of acrylic nails and do you go to the salon monthly to get your gel nails done? Now that the salons are closed, KISS has a solution for this as well. With the Brush On Gel Kit, you can create beautiful gel nails at home and maintain your nails. The kit contains everything you need to get started at home and has fewer steps than applying acrylic nails. Start, like with the acrylic nails, by finding the right size nail tips for your fingers. Apply these by putting the brush-on gel on the part of the nail tip that will touch your natural nail. Hold the nail tip firmly against your natural nail and let it dry well. To blend the tip with your natural nail, run the brush from the brush cleaner along the edge of each nail. So, the area between the tip and your natural nail. Once this is dry, you can file the nail surface until it's even, and shape your nails at the same time. Make sure your nails are clean again after this step. Now the real work can begin. Apply an even layer of the brush-on gel to your nails, just like you would with regular nail polish. Then use the brush from the gel cleanser, dip it in the activator, and apply a thin layer of this to the still wet gel. Repeat these steps 2 to 3 times to achieve the desired result. Finally, apply another layer of the brush-on gel to the nails; this layer serves as a topcoat.
Artificial nails
Not in the mood for the hassle of acrylic and gel? And are you not blessed with strong, long natural nails? No problem. Artificial nails can be the solution to always having well-groomed nails, as they can't break or chip. What's also nice is that you can determine the length yourself, so you always have the nails you want. At the bottom of this article, you'll find our all-time favorites.
Artificial nails with press-on system
With these ready-to-use artificial nails, it's a breeze. Thanks to the press-on system, you only need to remove the plastic from the back of the nail. Stick it on the right finger, and you're done; no glue is involved. It can be that simple!
Artificial nails with glue
Make sure your hands are clean and grease-free beforehand. Apply glue to the back of the artificial nail and on your natural nail. Then place the artificial nail on your natural nail and press it down for five seconds. Ensure there's enough glue, or you might get air bubbles. Are they on and completely dry? Don't forget to apply a nourishing cream to your cuticles.
Applying gel polish yourself
Not a fan of artificial nails? No worries. With all-in-one Gel Polish from Impulss, you can quickly and easily create the most beautiful nails that last a long time. Polish your nails as you normally would, but make sure this layer isn't too thick. This can cause the nail polish not to cure properly under the lamp. The lamp will turn off automatically once your nails are cured. Apply a new layer and put your hands back in the lamp. And voilà, you can enjoy beautiful nails for a while.
