Have you had a long day and are lying in bed exhausted, but you still need to take off your makeup? That’s a tough task. However, sleeping with makeup on is not recommended. Let us tell you why.
TIP: Always keep cleansing wipes next to your bed. This way, you don’t have to get out of bed and can quickly and easily remove your makeup.
Never keep your makeup on longer than necessary
You probably know the feeling: a night out or a very long day, and your makeup is still on your face. You wake up with all your makeup still on, but what should you do? Remove it as soon as possible. Your skin will otherwise become irritated, as it also needs rest and air. Otherwise, you risk clogged pores. So, make sure to cleanse your face well with a gentle cleanser to remove not just makeup but also all dirt and impurities. After that, try not to wear makeup for the rest of the day, or if necessary, just a tiny bit, so your skin can recover.
The right pillow
If you do end up sleeping with makeup on, make sure to use a satin pillow. This helps prevent your makeup from being pressed too deeply into your skin. A regular pillow doesn’t do that. A satin pillow is not only good for sleeping with makeup on, but it also helps reduce hair breakage. A win-win situation, right?
No scrubbing!
It’s often thought that scrubbing cleans your skin extra well, but do it in moderation. When you scrub, you remove dead skin cells. If you do this too often, you can damage your skin. Good skincare is very important, so scrub only once a week. Also, use a moisturizer and SPF every day. Sunscreen helps prevent your skin from aging. You can choose to buy a day cream with SPF in it or just a separate tube of SPF 30. If you really want to wear makeup, use a foundation with hydration and SPF. Collection has a product that’s perfect for this, namely the Collection Lasting Perfection Matte Foundation!
Had a long day? Cleanse your face as soon as you get home, don’t sleep with makeup on!
